Thanks in advance for contributing OPML files to OPMLsearch. OPML is a
powerful way for the community to share information in context. Outlines are
one of the most efficient and effective ways to share knowledge, and OPML
creates communities around shared outlines and web based sources.
This page is an accessible contribution point for publishing your outlines to
a wider community. This web service enables you to contribute an OPML file to a
community search pool, as well as to set parameters for keeping the OPML file
refreshed and up-to-date.
When you contribute the web location of an OPML file (that is, a URL), a
spider brings the file to OPMLsearch, parses the file, and places it in a
master database for indexing and searching. For example you may contribute an
RSS-oriented reading list, a directory of podcasts, an index to news sources, a
blogroll, or an OPML-based blog feed from the OPML editor or OPML manager.
Please tell us how your OPML is organized (optional)
After entering a source URL you can set whether or not the spider continues to
update the file and, if so, how often to visit the source.
-
Select 'Fetch now' to cause the OPML file to be gathered immediately.
-
Select ‘Set polling frequency’ if you would like the spider to visit the source
regularly and automatically upload the most recent version of the OPML file.
Enter a polling period time in minutes in the text box. The minimum period is
20 minutes. If polling has previously been set, your new selection will
override the earlier choice.
-
Select “Please don’t auto-poll' if you want the spider to visit the source only
when triggered manually on this page, or by a ‘REST API’
call.
-
Note for technical users: OPMLSearch.com has a REST API. You simply call
our API anytime you publish new content to have your content searchable here. For more
information visit our API page.
